Job Responsibilities
This position reports to the Director of Veterans Upward Bound (VUB) and is responsible for developing and overseeing the VUB academic program. This includes, but is not limited to, developing and implementing curriculum; training, supervising, scheduling and evaluating instructors and tutors; providing academic support and counseling to VUB participants; and assisting the director with recruiting participants and promoting and administering the program as needed.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
This position requires a bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years experience in curriculum management or development.
This position is a grant funded position with a salary is commensurate with education and experience based on a SC band 5 with a salary range of $32,838 –$41,000.
Preferred Qualifications
At least three (3) years of experience in academic assessment, instruction, and/or veteran counseling is preferred. Excellent written, verbal and electronic communication skills and outstanding interpersonal skills are essential. The ideal candidate will have experience with socially, economically and educationally disadvantaged populations; proposal writing skills; and knowledge of services available to veterans. Ideal applicants will have the ability to work with limited supervision and initiative, teamwork by cultivating group ideas and sharing, maintain a high level of ethical standards and commitment to continue program improvement and flexibility.
