UHealth IT is seeking an Executive Director, IT Quality Infection and Population Health directs, participates, and coordinates all aspects of design, and maintenance of EPIC quality, healthy planet/population health and Bugsy/ICON applications as it relates to MIPS, MACRA, and PCHQR. They will report to Chief Medical Informatics Officer.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities Include:

Directs, supervises, leads and participates in work as related to the Quality, Health Planet/Population Health and Infection Control EPIC Applications

Uses solid knowledge of MIPs, MACRA, PCHQR and hospital quality measures (IQIs, PQIs, Hospital measures, CAHPS, etc) and clinical experience to build, develop, and test clinical

applications in alignment with clinical practice.  This includes providing tools, dashboards, and reporting for quality, safety and regulatory needs, case and care management tools and infection control.

Provides direction for the IT and analytical requirements for value-based care, MIPs, MACRA, PCHQR, Eligible Clinician and Hospital Quality reporting.

Leads all quality, population health and infection control IT projects from building, testing, implementation and optimization.

Works closely with Chief Medical Officers, Chief Nursing Officer, Patient Safety Quality Officer, Infection Control Leadership, Executive Leadership, Physician Champions and

Clinical Super Users to ensure technology is driven by clinical and operational needs and aligns with compliant and safe clinical practices and quality requirements.

Provides support to the providers, clinical managers, clinical staff and end users.

Works with Compliance, Legal and Risk to ensure the electronic medical record access and use supports regulatory requirements.

Attends Provider Champion meetings and Department Faculty meetings as needed.

Provides support and assist CMIO in their Physician Support roles.

Reviews vendor requests for Quality, Population Health Software, Infection Control softwares.

Responsible to ensure all EPIC upgrades/enhancements and fixes to the software for the applications they oversee

Provides analysis on upcoming regulatory requirements and testing of the new enhancements.

Provides direction to the Application Analysts for work efforts with analyses and design of data sources, retrieval mechanisms and/or reports necessary for the effective and

efficient operation of the team and end users across the Enterprise.

Reviews departmental criteria-based job descriptions and competency skills checklists to meet the requirements of clinical application analysts and technology professionals.

Provides consultation with UM’s operational managers and staff regarding clinical process redesign enabled by clinical applications and technology.

The minimum requirements are Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare related field.  Preference RN, APRN, PA, MD or DO.  Minimum 5 years of relevant Clinical IT experience, Epic EMR preferred.  Minimum 5 years of relevant Clinical IT experience, Epic EMR preferred. Minimum 3-5 years of Clinical Practice preferred..  Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.

Patient safety is a top priority.
