CESMII's technology mission is to collaboratively develop and proliferate the adoption of smart manufacturing technologies including sensing, control, modeling, analytics and platforms for small, medium and large manufacturers. This mission is executed through portfolios of small and large R&D, capability and application projects of varying sizes executed by teams composed of CESMII's members across its regional manufacturing centers.

The Program Manager should be knowledgeable and have a broad range of experience in manufacturing systems and successfully managing multiple technical projects simultaneously. This role is one of two program managers responsible for overseeing and collaborating on a large scope of projects, each with its own project manager, from planning through execution.

The Program Manager coordinates the management of technical projects across project managers to ensure alignment with CESMII's overall technology mission, as well as ensure consistent, standardized execution and reporting to CESMII HQ and the Department of Energy.

The Program Manager will collaborate with and guide project managers throughout the project life cycle, including proposal preparation, management of project documentation, project time lines and deliverables, preparation of all necessary communications, periodic progress reports, and coordination of project meetings and schedules. The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget and scope, and manages issues that need resolution at the portfolio level. Percentage of Time: 100 Shift Start: 8:00 am Shift End: 5:00 pm function checkForSelectedStatus(){ return true;} Qualifications for Position 18 Records Qualifications Required/Preferred Bachelor's degree (or equivalent professional experience) Required Bachelors or advanced degree in engineering or science (or equivalent professional experience) Required 7+ years of experience in technical project management. 3+ years of experience in portfolio management Required Ability to efficiently prioritize multiple concurrent tasks while working in a complex and dynamic environment, and to ensure that the deliverables are accomplished. Required Demonstrated experience in managing engineering and/or R&D projects Required Project management experience in manufacturing environment Required Experience in managing federal or state R&D projects Preferred 5 years of experience with MS Project or equivalent, MS Office, and web/cloud information management tools Required Demonstrated written and oral communication skills, on both an individual and group basis, sufficient to effectively and efficiently obtain and impart information and Required Strong business & financial acumen, teamwork influencing, and coaching skills Required Experience in managing collaborative relationships with academia, industry, and governmental organizations Preferred Ability to prepare documents, proposals, and presentations that are clearly written, well organized, relevant for the audience and professional. Required Project Management Professional (PMP) certification Preferred Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with all levels of the organization as well as external partners Required Demonstrated oral communication skills, on both an individual and group basis, sufficient to effectively and efficiently obtain and impart information and explain concepts. Required Must be willing and able to travel throughout the United States up to 50% Required Ability to interpret policies and procedures and make accurate decisions accordingly.
