Usual Duties

Lecturer-Pool faculty are term positions hired to teach one to four courses per semester. All athletic training classes are taught at the main campus in Huntsville, TX. All courses in the athletic training program are enhanced using Blackboard, and in some cases taught in a hybrid format (partially on-line). Lecturer-Pool faculty hiring is based upon program requirements and student demand, on a semester-by-semester basis. Sam Houston State University will accept applications from qualified applicants on a continual basis.

Degree Requirements

Requires a minimum of 18 hours of master’s degree work in athletic training or related field, a current license to practice athletic training in the state of Texas, and current certification by the Board of Certification (BOC). A master’s degree or higher in athletic training or a related field is recommended. Preferred Expertise in Orthopedic Evaluation and Musculoskeletal Assessment.

Experience Requirements

Knowledge and experience with evidence-based practice concepts is required. Current or previous athletic training clinical practice is preferred. Teaching experience preferred. Experience with Blackboard or other on-line learning platform is preferred.
