Job Description:
Job Title: Career Ambassador - Marketing
Department: Malone Center for Career Engagement
Hours: 10 hours per week; requires occasional evening hours (must commit to full academic year)
Pay: $8.50 per hour

Job Duties:
Marketing Materials
  • Craft a visual aesthetic and brand for the Malone Center for Career Engagement through print and web materials such as flyers, calendars, etc.
  • Refine and implement Malone Center brand standards in alignment with Furman brand standards
  • Create eye-catching and clear promotional materials for events
  • Use Adobe Indesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop to produce strong design solutions in a methodical way

Customer Service & General Support
  • Provide assistance and serve as the front-line contact for visitors
  • Answer phone and email questions; help students and alumni schedule appointments via Handshake
  • Become an expert on MCCE digital tools and resources in order to assist students
  • Help with general and specific Malone Center events and initiatives, as requested by Malone Center staff
  • Assist with other duties as assigned


Expectations:

  • Attend all necessary training and evaluation meetings including August 22nd & 23rd and January 18th
  • Work 10 hours per week (including occasional evening hours)
  • Possess creativity to capture attention through flyers and other print materials

  • Ability to work methodically and produce results under a time crunch

  • Possess basic knowledge of Adobe Indesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop

  • Take ownership of office voice and brand identity, collaborating with other career ambassadors to consistently adhere to brand standards

  • Commit to being a positive team-member, demonstrate willingness and desire to help students and MCCE staff
  • Maintain a friendly, helpful attitude and provide excellent customer service, take ownership of problems that arise
  • Exemplify professionalism through your actions, communication and appearance as a representative of MCCE

Career Ambassadors also gain first hand exposure to the professional contacts, educational and recruiting opportunities that come through the Malone Center.
