Position Summary
This position will communicate to persons requesting and providing public safety service, monitor all fire and intrusion alarms, answer phones, liaison with other public safety agencies, produce administrative work, and dispatch public safety officers during emergencies and other times to provide appropriate services to our community.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction; Knowledge of and ability to learn and use software and equipment including Honeywell/Siemens Fire Alarm and Building Security System Facility Commander and DNA Fusion Access Control and Badging System, Motorola, Base and Portable Radio Equipment, Regroup - Short Message System, Public Address/Warning Siren, Microsoft Office; Ability to remain calm under tremendous stress and pressure; ability to multi-task in daily and/or emergency operations
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; a valid driver's license and the ability to complete certifications, such as First Aid/CPR, AED and other certifications as determined by department management is required.
Physical Demands:
Ability to sit for long hours; ability to hear phones ring and broadcasts over radio; ability to speak clearly on phone and over the radio; ability to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls; ability to reach with hands and arms; vision abilities include close vision and ability to adjust focus; ability to function in work environment with moderate noise level from several sources creating constant activity.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience:
A minimum of 1 year of customer service experience is preferred.

In the classroom, on the campus and beyond
We use experiential learning to engage students in a multicultural education that prepares them for life in a diverse and interconnected world.
