Position Description

The primary responsibility of the Video Production Specialist is to visually tell the NTC story to engage prospective students, celebrate student success and build brand awareness and identity. This position creates, produces, directs, shoots, writes and edits all marketing and promotional videos to market the College through tactics including, but not limited to, the web, recruitment activities, events, public relations, social media and external marketing.

Duties & Responsibilities

 

1. Provides project coordination (including creating, producing, writing, directing, shooting and editing) of high-end, professional videos and multimedia projects for marketing, public relations and promotional use.

  • Meets with internal customers to determine video needs
  • Maintains production schedules
  • Schedule and conduct interviews with faculty, staff and students necessary for productions
  • Works with appropriate members of the MPR team for dissemination of materials on the web or social media channels

2. Writes video scripts and creates story boards.

3. Organizes video shooting schedule on a continual basis, and provides on-going contributions to college video library and archives.

4. Coordinates video camera operation, lighting, audio and editing for video productions for the college as directed by college initiatives.

5. Assists with the development of radio and television advertising.

6. Maintains and updates video and audio software and hardware technologies.

7. Performs maintenance scheduling of video equipment.

8. Works with Brand Specialist to coordinate photo shoots and maintain and organize the photo library.

9. Serves as the College's on staff photographer and photo editor as needed.

10. Ensures brand alignment of video marketing tactics.

Qualifications

 

  1. Associate's Degree in video production, digital media, film, graphic arts or related field required.
  2. Minimum 1-2 years experience in digital video/audio filming, production and editing.
  3. Demonstrated success in scripting and editing video segments to meet messaging requirements.
  4. Creative, energetic personality with well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Experience with computer and editing software and video compression.
  6. Knowledge of basic still photography, multimedia productions, professional video productions, lighting and graphic design.
  7. Exceptional eye for video production, photography, and visual communication
  8. Ability to work within deadlines.
  9. Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite.
  10. Excellent organization, analytical and problem solving skills.

Additional Physical Requirements:
Vision: Adequate with aid to read instructions, labels, documents, computer screens, and differentiate between colors.

Hearing: Adequate with aid to understand oral requests, telephone conversation and PA systems.

Required Employee Program Safety Training:
Bloodborne pathogen, emergency procedures, ergonomics (office/workplace), hazard communication and slips, trips and falls
