Accounts Payable Associate

DescriptionJob Purpose: Verify and perform system entry for invoices and other requestsfor payment. Serve as point of contact for vendors, financial/accounting staffand other Institute personnel on matters related to payment status and otheraccounts payable issues.

 Major Responsibilities:
  • Review request for payment (invoices, check requests, employee payment requests, etc.) to verify accuracy and validity.
  • Assign appropriate expense codes to payment requests.
  • Enter payment requests into financial system.
  • Respond to inquiries from vendors, contractors, department managers and employees regarding payment status and other issues related to accounts payable.
  • Update and maintain accounts payable related files and records.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Basic Qualifications:
  • Education: Technical Diploma, Associate's Degree or two years college course work.
  • Work Experience: One to three years job related experience
  • Certifications:
  • Skills: This job requires working knowledge of and skill in applying payables processing procedures and use of related system applications and processing hardware/equipment.  Customer service and communications skills are required as is the ability to plan and organize work.
