Position Summary:

The Office of Assessment Research Analyst will provide inner office support and facilitate curricular and co-curricular assessment of student learning at the course, program, and institutional levels.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing and answering/preparing correspondence relating to Office of Assessment’s programs including maintaining the Office of Assessment’s website, newsletters, regional accreditation reports, and procedures manual.
  • Providing and/or collecting information, assistance, and clarifications to or from interested parties concerning Office of Assessment’s programs, policies, and procedures
  • May supervise and complete all hiring paperwork for a small to medium-sized administrative support staff or graduate assistants, and evaluate the work performance of incumbents
  • Assisting supervisor by maintaining leave records, appointment calendar, and prioritizing incoming and outgoing correspondence
  • Research and analyze data pertinent to work programs and/or office goals and objectives, and prepare reports explaining findings and recommendations. Assist in developing or revising policies, procedures, and directives based on research findings, and submit to supervisor for approval.
  • Meeting all internal and external deadlines established by the University’s accounting, HR, and other pertinent offices
  • Facilitating curricular and co-curricular assessment of student learning at the course, program, and institutional levels
  • Providing statistical support for the assessment of student learning outcomes at the course, program, and institutional levels
  • Coordinating faculty and staff development workshop materials and training, and standardized testing at the request of Deans, Department Chairs, and/or assessment leaders. Communicating status of standardized test orders and scoring to requesting parties on within five days of initial request
  • Facilitating requests, analysis, and communication regarding syllabi including but not limited to maintaining syllabi repository, creating missing syllabi reports, and conducting/organizing the annual syllabi analysis project, and evaluating, and updating assessment documentation using Taskstream
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Must have experience with Microsoft Office and Banner (Dot CMS preferred).

The Research Analyst will compile financial information used by supervisor to formulate budget proposals and monitor expenditures to ensure optimum operating efficiency, conduct all accounting transactions including travel, budget transfers, requisition payments, and other accounting transactions, such as P-Card and Ghost-Card logs, as needed, maintain equipment lists and ID numbers, and coordinate ordering, installation and repairs.

Additionally, this position assists with meeting and Learn@State preparations, such as room reservations, refreshments, decorations and photocopies, records events during meetings for three internal Assessment committees, and prepares minutes from meetings and posts approved minutes onto Office of Assessment website.

The individual in this position will use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, EAC Visual Data, SPSS, and A-State proprietary software (i.e. essay repository) to compile, tabulate, calculate and/or communicate statistical information, and meets all internal and external deadlines for statistical analysis, report writing, and data requests.

Performs other assessment and job-related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Mathematics, Psychology or related field.
