  • Position Description

    Under the direction and supervision of Chief Administrative Officer, Surgical & Cancer Research, this position is responsible for performing all data entry functions as they relate to the completion of paper case report forms or electronic case report forms, by entering study data collected by the research team into the Electronic Data Capture (EDC) system. The Research Data Coordinator will also resolve all data queries. The position works closely with the research team in support of all ongoing clinical studies.

    Qualifications:

    Education/experience:

    · Bachelor’s Degree in clinical, scientific or business related discipline or any equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

    · Minimum of 5 years’ experience in clinical research coordination or related administrative research experience required.

    · Working knowledge of clinical research Electronic Data Capture (EDC) systems (i.e. iMedidata RAVE) and Clinical Trial Management System(s)

    · Strong organizational and problem solving skills

    · Ability to multi-task.

    · Promotes a spirit of teamwork through effective communication, cooperation, and collaboration.

    · Demonstrates ability to work with self-direction and effectiveness under minimal supervision 

    Communication and other skills:

    · Excellent communication skills are required.

    · Certain degree of creativity and latitude.

    · Proficient in Microsoft Office including MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint; MS Outlook and Internet Explorer.

    ·  Must have the ability to work well with staff of all levels.

     

    Working Conditions:

    Works in a professional office environment with possible high stress levels. May be asked to walk long distances to attend meetings or run departmental errands on campus that may require lifting objects 10-20 pounds. Must be able to work flexible hours, shifts, holidays and weekends if needed. Tolerate busy office environment that requires constant interaction with patients, employees, students, residents, and physicians. Requires the ability to operate various types of office equipment including but not limited to: personal computer, fax machines, copiers, telephones, etc. Must be able to work effectively both with internal and external customers in stressful situations. Utilizes own transportation for travel between sites as required.
