National Louis University’s Undergraduate College is actively seeking applicants for the role of HSI Operations and Enrollment Coordinator.
National Louis University’s Undergraduate College has set the ambitious goal of becoming a local and national leader in closing the opportunity gap in bachelor’s degree attainment. Through an innovative, affordable, rigorous, flexible, supportive, and professionally focused approach to undergraduate education, NLU seeks to help thousands of students – many of whom face significant barriers to completing college – get to and through college and move on to successful careers and fulfilling lives. NLU has received grant funding to support increasing Hispanic enrollment in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields, specifically NLU’s new Computer Science and Information System major. The purpose of this position is to support NLU’s HSI (Hispanic Serving Institution) STEM grant goals, specifically in the areas of Operations and Enrollment support.
This position will be based at the Wheeling campus. Working with the HSI STEM Program Director and the Director of Undergraduate Programming at the Wheeling campus, the HSI Enrollment and Operations Coordinator position provides a high level of administrative, project management and enrollment support. We seek an individual who is passionate about increasing access to undergraduate education, especially for Hispanic students in STEM fields, and dedicated to making a difference in the community by supporting the growth of this initiative in the Northwest Suburbs.

Outcomes:

•Support the Program Director and staff by maintaining the HSI Outreach and events/meetings calendar. Take minutes in team meetings. Data entry in an accurate and timely manner as it relates to the goals and activities of the program.
•Monitor program, project budget and ensure payment and reimbursement of expenses. Complete monthly and annual grant reports.
•Perform administrative support to the HSI Grant and UGC Wheeling team as necessary, answer incoming calls and student inquiries, create/edit written and electronic correspondence, arrange meetings, take minutes, prepare and distribute agendas and/or minutes, etc.; prepare purchase requisitions and track delivery of materials.
•Assist HSI and UGC Teams in successful planning of various events both on and off campus that support HSI grant goals. These events may include but are not limited to: yearly Symposium event; culturally relevant professional development workshop series, high school field trips, workshops, student recruitment events, partner visits, Latino Family Conference.
•Support of outreach activities as needed, especially events aimed at students interested in STEM majors such as computer science class visits, computer programming clubs, college fairs and college nights at local high schools.
•Assist in building enrollment of Latino students in the Computer Sciences and Information Systems degree program at the Wheeling campus. Related tasks include assisting prospective students and their parents by phone or in on campus visits, answering inbound calls, following up with leads in Salesforce.

Your Competencies:

Essential Skills/Experience
•Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish
•1-3 years of experience working in an office providing administrative support with great customer service skills
•1-3 years of experience managing spreadsheets and databases. Familiarity with CRM system (Salesforce) and SIS (Banner) a plus
•Passionate about higher education in general and specifically devoted to helping underrepresented students enroll and persist at the post-secondary level
•Bachelor’s Degree Required
