Basic Function

Provides effective and responsive technical and networking support, planning, testing, integration, and the maintenance of hardware and software in all classrooms and offices of the Woodbridge Campus Information Technology Department as well as classrooms and offices at off campus locations such as; Quantico Marine Base, and Ft. Belvoir.

Duties and Responsibilities

Analyze and resolve hardware/software problems onsite or at offsite locations. Design, installation, configuration and maintenance of a comprehensive IT infrastructure for both Mac and PC.
Removal and installation of hardware components and peripherals
Installation of additional software manually and via deployment console.
Respond to all user requests for technical advice and support with excellent customer service. Properly Document all customer inquiries and resolutions to problems through ticketing system.
Assist in PC Refresh Life Cycle Process and deployment as well as inventory tracking. Use remote support tools, and ticketing tools. Use of SCCM for re-imaging of computer, remote control, and inventory purpose. Backup and restore of user data and customizing user profiles.
Work well as team with IT coordinators and users.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from high school, currently pursuing an IT Degree.
Demonstrated working knowledge and experience with computers (PC and MAC), various classroom technologies, networks, and video conferencing equipment. Experience using Microsoft products, email software, help desk software, tech net and/or various tech solution sites, PC diagnostic tools, various hardware technologies, virus programs, and Internet technologies. Experience troubleshooting both hardware and software issues, various classroom technology equipment, computers, printers, and email applications. Valid Drivers License
Flexible working hours: Daytime, Evening and Weekend Availability.

Preferred Qualifications

A+ certification desired but not required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

An ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel. Ability to work as a team member – demonstrates ability to work together with co-workers and share knowledge, ideas and/or resolutions of problems among members. The ability to install, modify, and repair computer software and hardware. The ability to troubleshoot hardware and software problems for all campus technology equipment. The ability to demonstrate and instruct users in the use of hardware and software. A demonstrated knowledge of PCs, LAN’s, software applications, hardware components and basic network infrastructure. Ability to research and solve technical problems at a two-tier level. An ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel. Extensive use of tech net tools (from vendor or Microsoft) for research and development. Possess the unique ability to solve undocumented problems with campus related technical software and/or hardware.
