General Position Description

Instruct survey courses in American history and possibly world history. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: advising students, maintaining office hours, participating in college committees, promoting and supporting extra-curricular activities, participating in professional development, and working across departments to develop student communication, computation, and problem-solving skills. May include evening classes; weekend, off-campus, dual credit, and/or internet courses. This position reports to the Division Chair of Social & Behavioral Sciences.
NOTE: This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Education: Master's degree from an accredited college or university, with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in history.
Experience: One year of higher education teaching experience.

Working Conditions

Physical effort-Restricted: Sustained posture or intense attentiveness for prolonged periods. Light lifting (less than 30 lbs), some walking, pushing, pulling on a regular basis. Work environment-Minimal hazard/exposure: Standard office setting. At least minimal environmental controls to assure health and comfort.
