Maintain a clean and sanitary environment for the students, employees, and visitors of the college campus. It is also very important that the building(s) assigned are all well supplied with all needed commodities. Any safety hazards and/or needed repairs should be noted and reported to the proper person/department. Receives immediate supervision from the Custodial Services Supervisor and exercised no supervision.
REGULAR WORK HOURS: Monday through Thursday work hours 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM
and Fridays 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
Note: This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.
Education: Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write in English at a level necessary for successful job performance.
Experience: No experience is required.
Special Requirement: Must have and maintain a valid driver's license. Must be insurable and maintain insurability under the College's automobile insurance policy.
Knowledge of: 1.) Function of assigned buildings that is required to perform duties. 2.) Commercial custodial operations and equipment. 3.) Custodial duties and college mission. Skills in: 4.) Techniques for cleaning campus buildings. 5.) Operating the proper equipment/tools needed to efficiently complete duties properly (such as vacuums, auto scrubbers, buffers, and hand tools.) Ability to: 6.) Comprehend and communicate in English successfully to perform the required tasks in daily assignments.Working Conditions
Exertive: Significant exertion on a daily basis. Awkward postures and work positions; sustained activities require strength (e.g. using tools). Frequent moderate lifting (30-60 lbs.). Unpleasant Exposure Minor Hazard: Moderate exposure to dust, grease, noise, inclement weather, temperature extremes, and unpleasant but not hazardous odors. Occasional exposure to risk controlled by safety precautions. Frequency or severity is limited.Benefits
