Assists the department in disseminating information about the college to the campus community, media, and the public. Researching, writing, proofreading, and editing content. Curates and manages college social media accounts. This position reports to the Associate Director of Marketing and Communications and exercises no supervision. NOTE: This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.
Minimum Qualification RequirementsEducation: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent education and work experience.
Experience: More than one year of professional experience.
Knowledge of: (1) Marketing, Microsoft Office Suite, AP and MLA styles; (2) Social Media platforms; (3) English usage, grammar, and punctuation; (4) multitasking and organizing projects. Skills in: (5) Copywriting and command over various social media platforms; (6) multi-tasking and organizing projects. Ability to: (7) Operate computer software and manage simultaneous projects and activities; (8) write effective and accurate materials for publications and news outlets; (9) communicate clearly orally and in writing; (10) maintain and develop relationships with students, faculty and staff in the course of work.
Working ConditionsSedentary: Desk work; occasional field trips e.g. for college or program activities. Insignificant effort other than normal movement. Minimal Hazard/Exposure: Standard office setting. At least minimal environmental controls to assure health and comfort. Must be available for some flexible scheduling.
