Title: Digital Content Analyst

 
Job Description
The Digital Content Analyst is responsible for the content management and technical oversight of the Nicholas School’s web assets, including its main Drupal site and two Wordpress networks. (S)he will work closely with internal and external, technical and non-technical partners to deliver memorable experiences within the school’s brand standards and custom content that is updated, accurate and easy to navigate on a multitude of devices (phones, tablets, laptops, etc.). This team member is expected to proactively suggest and implement process improvements to enhance the NSOE brand, user experience, and content delivery, and will be the primary point of contact and project manager for contracted web vendors. This position is a vital member of the Office of Marketing & Communications and reports to the Associate Dean of Marketing & Communications.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:Serve as lead for NSOE web developmentWorking closely with the Assoc. Dean of Marketing & Communications, provide guidance regarding how best to represent the NSOE brand online;Contribute to the development and implementation of the digital strategy;Working in association with the NSOE student services team, manage the implementation and measurement of email recruitment strategiesManage, maintain and update web content in Drupal and WordpressProvide front-line technical support to key website users within the schoolCollaborate with other Nicholas School departments, units and programs to gather, plan, prioritize and propose proactive improvements to web content and/or design, while maintaining consistent school messaging; and develop a means to solicit regular feedback and input on website performance from faculty, staff and students Develop a plan to regularly review our Wordpress networks to ensure sites are staying current, and to phase out those that are no longer relevantProvide content management training to end users within the school to empower them to update sections of the sites for which they have been given administrative accessProduce monthly reports on web analytics, including for the Duke Marine Lab site.Work with marketing and brand strategists at the university level to ensure compatibility of our web assets with the Duke brand and optimize the benefits of our Duke affiliation Serve as liaison and chief point of contact with vendors conducting back-end development and maintenance of our Drupal and Wordpress sitesProvide oversight and workflow management for external vendor SLA(s) and internal OLA/SLA with Duke Office of Information Technology unitsEither directly or as a vendor liaison, ensure that critical updates are applied and web components meet Duke security standardsPerform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.Preferred qualifications: Prefer degree in the web-related fieldProficiency in Drupal and Wordpress required; familiarity with PHP, HTML, Acrobat, Dreamweaver, JavaScript, and Photoshop preferred. Four years of related experience preferred Proven project management skillsResponsive; customer service inclinedSolid interpersonal/communication skillsWillingness to contribute to the internal and external presentation of NSOETeam player with good conflict management skillsAn interest in data and analytics and their role in the digital project and content development

Education
BA or BS in journalism, marketing, English, graphic design or related field.

Experience

Duke University was created in 1924 by James Buchanan Duke as a memorial to his father, Washington Duke. The Dukes, a Durham family that built a worldwide financial empire in the manufacture of tobacco products and developed electricity production in the Carolinas, long had been interested in Trinity College. Trinity traced its roots to 1838 in nearby Randolph County when local Methodist and Quaker communities opened Union Institute.
