Classification Title Assistant Director of Event Services Position Type Administrative Department Coliseum Position Title Assistant Director of Event Services Position Number 7384 Pay Grade Range Nature of Work

Responsible for the coordination of all events housed within The Coliseum. This position is also responsible for managing the master calendar, marketing plans, and preparing rental estimates for Coliseum events.

In addition to Coliseum event services, this position will serve on the EMS Campus Governance team, serve as a supervisor for large events across campus (football/move-in), supervising a large number of employees and routinely working additional night, weekend, and Holiday events.

This position also backs up the Assistant Director of Business Operations during absences. Because the fulfillment of these duties requires the Assistant Director of Event Services to hold a purchasing card (P-Card), a satisfactory credit check will be required as a condition of employment.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management, Business, or related field and 3 years of event management leadership experience.

Capability of working collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, and members of the community

Willingness to work early morning, late night, and weekend shifts depending upon event schedule

Strong leadership, communication and customer service skills.

Ability to work in a dynamic environment

Ability to work in a team, take directions, and communicate effectively

Successful credit check required for P-Card responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Sports Management, Business, or related field and 4-5 years of event management leadership experience. Previous experience in sports, entertainment, recreation, government, or higher education setting.

Salary $45,540.00/yrly Minimum - $58,632.00/yrly Midpoint Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

Must have the ability to work evenings, weekends, and sometimes holidays in a fast paced often noisy environment.
