THIS CONTINUOUS POSTING IS RECRUITING FOR 1ST SHIFT TEMPORARY HOUSEKEEPER POSITIONS ONLY.
Pay for this position is $10.61/hour.
Housekeeping Services is comprised of a staff of more than 400 employees, who provide 24-hour service, including providing daily cleaning service and floor care for approximately 245 buildings on campus. Housekeeping Services is committed to fostering a culture of civility and respect for its diverse workforce and is seeking employees who strive to achieve excellence and promote collegiality.
General duties include vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal. Employees provide routine, detailed, daily cleaning of assigned campus building interior and exterior areas, including but not limited to: offices, lounges, restrooms, student housing, classrooms, laboratories, entrances, exits, and stairways.Education and Experience
Minimum Education and Experience:
Demonstrated ability of the competencies necessary to preform the work.
Some knowledge of cleaning procedures, ability to follow instructions and to perform medium to heavy physical work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Special certification may be required for some of these positions. Demonstrated ability to understand and follow work orders and product instructions, product labels, product directions, other written job materials, and understand verbal instructions.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Six (6) months of institutional or commercial cleaning experience preferred. Strong preference for housekeeping experience in a university or medical setting. Experience working with commercial cleaning equipment.
Work is routine and repetitive in nature and may require strenuous physical exertion.
Applicants must be able to climb stairs and lift/move objects weighing up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodations.
Employees are required to adhere to safety requirements by wearing the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
