About the College/Department

The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at the University of Arkansas sponsors 19 varsity sports programs (eight men’s and 11 women’s). These 19 programs include more than 460 student-athletes who participate in the various sports programs annually within the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA). As the only mascot of its kind in college athletics, the Arkansas Razorbacks, also known as Hogs, compete in the NCAA’s Division I (FBS in football) and are a current member of the Southeastern Conference in the Western Division. The mission of the Razorback Athletic Department is to assist in the development of student-athletes to their fullest potential through intercollegiate athletics.

The Athletic Equipment and Vehicle Mechanic is responsible for performing skilled preventative maintenance and repair work on all assigned equipment, to include record keeping of all work performed on the equipment, training and testing of all equipment operators, and keeping current on OSHA and EPA standards.

Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

  • The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma
  • At least three years of experience in a mechanical/maintenance setting
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

  • Experience working with commercial mowing equipment maintenance and repairs

  • Experience keeping all work areas to OSHA an EPA standards
