Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Director of IELI and Assistant Dean is responsible for academic and administrative oversight of the on-campus Intensive English Language Institute and the Super IES program with Kansai Gaidai University in Japan. The position oversees the planning, personnel, administration and budget of the unit. The position has faculty status, is a member of the leadership team, and reports directly to the Vice Provost and Dean of International Affairs. This position is responsible for developing, negotiating, and implementing new programs in the following areas: international pathway programs, short-term customized programs, and customized training programs for international students and professionals. Responsible for developing and implementing an international recruitment plan, a marketing plan, and establishing partnerships on-campus, nationally and internationally to grow enrollment and revenue. The position develops and manages the annual budget and ensures the successful performance of the unit and its programs. The position oversees and revises the IELI curriculum as necessary. The position is responsible for compliance with all federal and state regulations and with all accreditation rules and regulations. The position works closely with the other six units in UNT-International and with departments and colleges to promote and support international education.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's Degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Second Language Acquisition, or related discipline.
5-7 years of progressive administrative and upper management experience in an intensive english language program or similar program/department.
Significant teaching experience
Significant budget/financial management experience
Experience supervising and managing a diverse team of staff and instructors in multicultural educational environments
Demonstrated experience in developing curricula for IEP and international education programs
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse students from numerous countries, assorted native languages, and various levels of English proficiency
Knowledge of international marketing/recruitment
Demonstrated skills in outreach, new business development
Ability to travel nationally and internationally
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong computer and technology skills
Flexible work schedule including occasional nights and weekends

Preferred Qualifications:
Ph.D.
Higher Education Administration/Management experience
Experience living or working overseas
Experience in developing and delivering training programs
Direct experience with International Student Recruitment
Experience with development and/or management of a pathway program
Knowledge of immigration rules and regulations and DSO experience
