The University of Michigan–Flint is seeking an experienced residence life leader to develop and articulate a strategic plan to grow an urban residential life system, with a demonstrated understanding of how to promote student learning and academic success in a residential environment. Under the direction of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, the Director will develop and execute a comprehensive business plan for housing and residence life at the University of Michigan-Flint to include: strategic marketing and recruitment; fiscal and occupancy management; operations and resource management; facilities and deferred maintenance; revenue generation; and co-curricular programming comprising living/learning communities. Through the direct supervision of two Associate Directors, the Director provides leadership in establishing a residential environment in alignment with institutional mission and core values, and works collaboratively with various campus constituents to more fully integrate the residential experience into the life of the campus. The Director maintains a culture of accountability while supporting continuous improvement and capacity building among staff. The Director of Housing and Residential Life reports to the Associate Vice Chancellor and Dean of Students. Resume review begins on April 15, 2019. This position is open until filled.
