Associate Director of Admissions

Requirements

Georgetown University in Qatar is looking for an Associate Director of Admissions. As a senior member of the team, the Associate Director will contribute directly to the strategic enrollment goals of GU-Q and will be responsible for coordinating and driving the admissions process.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Office of Admissions, including receipt and processing, of applicant data and files, testing results, and academic credentials;
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the admissions office's recruitment and marketing plan;
  • Work with the Director of Admissions to develop and document admissions office functions and processes and evaluate workflow issues and needs;
  • Function as the primary liaison with departmental vendors and Information Technology (IT) staff regarding departmental use of admissions systems and provide advanced user support for the admissions team on those systems;
  • Supervise and manage the Admissions Systems Analyst and any temporary/seasonal staff that may be hired to support the office during peak application receipt and processing periods;
  • Participate in the hiring, training and management of admissions office staff;
  • Promote GU-Q through the development and provision of formal presentations and by participating in admissions road shows, recruiting fairs, school visits, and other admissions-related conferences and conventions locally and internationally (intensive travel, evening, and weekend commitments may be required);
  • Respond to phone, email, and personal inquiries from students, parents, and counselors, ensuring delivery of accurate information about the university, admissions requirements and the application process;
  • Serve on the Admissions Committee (Executive Committee and sub-committees) and evaluate and execute admission decisions;
  • Develop and monitor statistical reports to enhance recruitment strategies, yield management, forecasting, and operational efficiency;
  • Contribute to proof-reading and copy editing of formal admissions-related documents, including the website, in both English and Arabic;
  • Liaise with Qatar Foundation, other units within Student Development, Academic Affairs and Finance to coordinate various processes for matriculated students regarding financial aid, visa-related issues, housing and receiving final transcripts as needed;
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree;
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working in an English speaking or bilingual office environment;
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in an academic setting, ideally in an international environment;
  • 3 years' experience in university admission, recruitment or academic reporting is preferred;
  • Experience of managing professional and student staff is preferred;
  • Understanding of international admissions and higher education settings and strategic enrollment management;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills,
  • Familiarity with student information systems, admissions systems or customer relationship management productivity software;
  • Familiarity with technical reporting tools is a plus;
  • Experience using Slate for Admissions or a similar CRM or Admissions application is desirable;
  • Fluency in English language;
  • Arabic language proficiency is preferred;
  • Knowledge of additional languages is an asset.
