Director, MSN Program Department of Nursing School of Science, Technology and Health
Biola University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Nursing at the Associate or Full Professor rank as the Director of the new, fully online MSN Program to begin August 2019 or until filled. The MSN Director will work to develop and advance the objectives of the program consistent with the mission, vision, values, goals, and policies of Biola University, the School of Science, Technology and Health and the Department of Nursing.
Program: The MSN Director will oversee and maintain applicable approvals and accreditations, participate in departmental and university meetings and committees, and coordinate effectively with other academic departments. The MSN Director will function effectively as an advocate for the Department of Nursing; carry a teaching load of up to 6 graduate units; maintain institutional memberships and ensure representation at appropriate national, state and local organizations. This role will provide appropriate oversight of all aspects of faculty, staff, and students in collaboration with the Director of Nursing.
Qualifications: A doctoral degree with a master's degree in nursing or related field is required. Coursework should include content in nursing education or administration. Will have a minimum of one year experience in an Associate or Director role and three years of college teaching including a minimum of two years of experience in an accredited baccalaureate or higher degree nursing program. Experience in curriculum and online course development and administration is highly preferred. Ongoing professional and scholarly activity is required. Applicants must also have completed at least one year of continuous full-time experience in patient care, have a current and unencumbered California registered nursing license, and the desired intention to serve as a Christian professional role model for faculty and students.
