Basic Function

Primary responsibility as an assistant administrator for tutoring services on the Loudoun campus of NOVA. Will assist the operational needs of the Tutoring Coordinator. Assist with scheduling for tutors and student appointments; recruitment and training; promotion and advertising of the tutoring center’s services. In addition, may tutor students in a variety of delivery methods and locations on campus.

Duties and Responsibilities Minimum Qualifications

Associates degree in general studies or related field, or equivalent applicable training and experience. Previous tutoring and/or teaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelors degree in a core discipline or related field or higher.
Previous experience working in higher education and/or community college experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Demonstrated knowledge of tutoring practices. Friendly out going personality. Strong oral and written communication skills. Able to work in a high pace atmosphere.
Ability to work with a diverse student population.
Knowledge of various learning preferences.
