The University of Kentucky College of Health Sciences is currently accepting applications for a full-time (11 or 12 month), tenure-track faculty position at the Associate Professor or Professor level for an individual with an interest in population health research. We invite you to become part of a dynamic group of faculty focused on being a leader in the delivery of interdisciplinary health services. It is expected that the person in this position will collaborate with or provide support and mentorship to other CHS teams conducting health services research, implementation science, comparative effectiveness trials and /or translational research with an emphasis on population health. Applicants should have an established research focus in one or more areas relevant to the College’s research interests in health, habilitation, or rehabilitation.
The qualified applicant will have an earned doctoral degree focusing on population health or a related field such as (but not limited to) epidemiology, health economics, health promotion, health disparities, patient-centered outcomes, quality of care, or rural health. A strong background in biostatistics and expertise in current research methods to support interdisciplinary health research is required.
Rank and salary for this appointment are commensurate with qualifications and experience. Start-up funds will be available to help establish or facilitate research agendas.
Primary duties of this position include: participating in scholarly and research productivity as appropriate for assigned Distribution of Effort (DOE) allocation, supporting ongoing project development of other faculty, providing teaching and mentoring to students in the graduate and professional programs including the Rehabilitation Sciences PhD program, and participating in the ongoing mission of the College and community through attendance at meetings, service on committees, etc.
The successful candidate will have access to several significant resources including the College’s state of the art teaching and clinical facilities, UK’s Center for Clinical Translational Sciences, UK’s Telehealth program, the Sanders-Brown Center on Aging, advanced neuroimaging capabilities, a contiguous Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center, our Human Performance Laboratory, the Sports Medicine Research Institute, the Kentucky Neuroscience Institute, the UK Human Development Institute, and local and public schools. The College of Health Sciences is home to state-of-the-art research laboratories (wet & dry), and maintains strong collaborative ties with colleagues across campus.
