The Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics (MIMG) at the David Geffen School of Medicine at University of California Los Angeles invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant Adjunct Professor level. Outstanding candidates working in the areas of immunology and molecular biology of RNA splicing are invited to apply. Successful candidates are expected to develop an innovative research program and join a highly interactive group of scientists within the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics (http://www.mimg.ucla.edu). The candidate will benefit from a collaborative research community spanning the basic and clinical sciences from the Schools of Medicine and Engineering, College of Letters and Science, California NanoSystems Institute, Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Eli and Edythe Broad Center of Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Research and the UCLA AIDS Institute.

Requirements: Applicants must have a PhD, MD or equivalent terminal degree by the date of hire. Additionally, postdoctoral (or equivalent post terminal degree) experience, evidence of potential for establishing extramurally funded research program, a strong record of scientific publications, a demonstrated track record in teaching and mentoring students/trainees, and a commitment to mentoring underrepresented undergraduate/graduate students are preferred. Expertise pertaining to prostate cancer cell biology, RNA expression and splicing, data science, and immunology is required. A successful applicant will have experience leading a multi-disciplinary, collaborative discovery team for cancer immunotherapy. The candidate should be familiar with molecular biology and informatics techniques as well as cellular and animal models of disease. Applicants should submit full curriculum vitae, a 2-page summary describing their current research program and future directions, a brief statement on teaching experience, and three letters of reference. Applicants with a history of commitment to mentoring underrepresented undergraduates are encouraged to apply and should indicate their experience in a cover letter.
