Requirements
Lifeguard (Part-time) - Yates Memorial Field House
Georgetown University, as a leading American and Jesuit institution, is committed to the cultivation of the whole person; the training not only of the intellect and spirit, but also the body. With this in mind, the Yates Memorial Field House was built to meet the recreational, instructional, and intramural sport needs of the entire University Community. As the primary recreation facility for Georgetown University, Yates offers comprehensive recreational programming to serve the needs of university students, faculty and staff.
The Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring swim patrons' safety and protecting lives. Lifeguards enforce Yates Field House rules and regulations in the swimming pool. Reporting to the Assistant Director, Campus Recreation as well as the Recreation Center Supervisors on duty, lifeguards have duties that include but are not limited to:
- Prevent injuries by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations or behaviors.
- Recognize and respond quickly and effectively to all emergencies and administer firstaid, CPR and AED in an emergency situation.
- Responsible for monitoring access to the facility, answering the telephone, and other front desk duties as required.
Qualifications
- Requires licensure to hold a Red Cross certification as well as a Lifeguard/Professional Rescuer
