The Aspen Leadership Group is proud to partner with University of Northern Iowa in the search for a Vice President for University Advancement.

Reporting to President Mark Nook and serving as a member of the President's Senior Leadership Team, the Vice President for University Advancement will serve as the chief development officer of the University of Northern Iowa (UNI), President of the UNI Foundation, President of the UNI Research Foundation, and President of the UNI Properties Corporation. The Vice President will oversee, coordinate, and implement all fundraising, research, investments, accounting, outreach, advancement communications, alumni relations, and information services for the university’s advancement operations. This includes the formulation and implementation of policies and programs relative to the financial support of the university from all philanthropic sources and the oversight of cohesive communications of those initiatives including foundation policies. The Vice President will develop, maintain, and support a strong UNI Foundation Board of Trustees with strategic direction; oversee and provide advice and counsel to the UNI Alumni Association; and develop and implement an advancement master plan including strategic planning, implementation, and execution of all fundraising campaigns to support the mission and direction of the university.

UNI has a long and rich history of service dating back to its founding in 1876 as an institution created for and devoted to the training of teachers. True to its roots, UNI continues to emphasize hands-on service learning and retains the proud distinction of being Iowa’s number-one teacher education program. Academically, UNI is composed of four colleges; College of Business Administration, College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, College of Humanities, Arts and Sciences, and College of Education. UNI offers more than 90 majors, giving students the opportunity to explore a variety of interests and preparing them for success after college. Outside of the classroom, UNI’s vibrant campus is home to over 300 student clubs and organizations, 17 Division I collegiate sports teams, and a multitude of fine arts opportunities.

A bachelor’s degree plus at least seven years of progressive advancement experience; experience in development, campaign planning, and execution; demonstrated involvement of stakeholders; demonstrated record of effective and successful fundraising; and progressive experience in annual giving, planned giving, and major gifts is required. Fans can see all UNI teams in action in the McLeod Center, UNI-Dome, West Gym and other campus complexes.
