POSITION: ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR - 3 POSITIONS

The School of Business is located in downtown Jersey City, on the waterfront with stunning views of Manhattan, and there is a southern location at the Jersey Shore in Monmouth County. NJCU is a dynamic and growing place for change that embraces a diverse student body with an excellent track record for graduating successful second degree, RN to BSN and Masters Students. NJCU Nursing is experiencing an exciting period of development and expansion. A new Nursing Education Center at the Jersey City campus is now open and nursing faculty are invited to join us as we expand with new programs, facilities, and faculty. NJCU Nursing is seeking faculty who want to utilize their skills in teaching, curriculum, assessment, advisement, leadership, and service to the university and community. The Department of Nursing invites applications for full-time tenure-track faculty appointments at the assistant or associate level commencing September 1, 2019.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Successful applicants will be expected to have a strong track record of scholarship including publication, teach both basic and advanced courses at the undergraduate and graduate level, develop new programs and course offerings for the nursing department, maintain scholarly engagement in their respective field, and participate in student recruitment, advisement, and service activities at the department, college, university, and community level. Teaching assignments will be at both the Jersey City and Monmouth County locations. Faculty teaching assignments can include day, evening, weekend, and online courses. Candidates should demonstrate evidence of technological competence, working knowledge of student and program assessment, strong leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills, and commitment to diversity among faculty, staff, and students.

REQUIREMENTS: A minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching with competency in on line teaching is preferred. All specialties will be considered. A current unencumbered NJ registered nurse license is required. An active research agenda in progress is required.

EDUCATION: A doctoral degree in nursing and a master’s degree in nursing from a professionally and regionally accredited institution is required.
