Job Description

The Department of Accounting & Finance in the College of Business at Texas A&M University-San Antonio is seeking applications from qualified candidates for full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Accounting faculty position for Fall 2019. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Accounting and advise students. The College offers BBA and MPA degrees in Accounting. Quality performance will be expected in teaching, service, and research. The successful candidate must have PhD in Accounting from AACSB accredited university with minimum 18 graduate hours in Accounting; record of research productivity; and university level teaching experience. Preference will be given to candidates who have research interest in financial or managerial accounting, audit, or forensic accounting but open to teaching variety of courses; have prior relevant industry experience and professional certification with effective communications skills.  

Necessary Qualifications: 

  • Earned doctorate degree in Accounting from AACSB accredited university. 
  • Minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Accounting.
  • Evidence of research productivity. 
  • Teaching experience at university level.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Prior relevant industry experience.
  • Appropriate certificates/licenses such as CPA/CMA etc.
  • Effective communications skills.
