Position Description:
Under the direction of the Fleet & Transit (F&T) Director, the Assistant Director of Strategy & Business Analysis oversees organizational analyses, strategic planning, business analytics, financial planning, billing, vehicle resource planning, procurement, and motorpool (daily rental) functions for F&T. The incumbent will lead a team of analysts and specialists responsible for managing the F&T business performance reporting and process improvement program, supporting data-driven decisions about service allocation and systems modifications, and operating the university motorpool program. All business decisions are made with careful attention to F&T's "three pillars" of sustainability: Environmental, Organizational, and Financial. The incumbent works to expand use of clean-fuel vehicles to meet the University's goal related to carbon neutrality; ensure that F&T's business profile, processes, and level-of-service is consistent with campus needs; and identify appropriate economies of scale, especially those related to the implementation of state-of-the-art vehicle and information technologies and customer communications tools. Along with the Director, the incumbent provides visionary leadership to the entire F&T team and is key to creating a collaborative, strategic, thoughtful, and customer-focused work environment. The incumbent directs the F&T Department in the absence of the Director.
