Provides a high level of technical support for (documentation, troubleshooting, development, testing, implementation and analysis) applications and interfaces which deliver IT tools and support business functions across UNCW. Manages or serves on one or more projects. Formulates and develops plans and documents required steps to achieve stated requirements. Reviews plans with management/peers as appropriate. Adheres to all UNCW polices on information security and confidentiality. Monitors user proficiency with applications and provides on-going training. Ensures that clients are kept informed of all system updates; and updates are fully tested before going live. Updates documentation to reflect any resulting changes in systems, departmental procedures or policies.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or closely related degree from an appropriately accredited institution or an equivalent combination of education and experience

List the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential functions of the position

Demonstrated ability to successfully provide administration, support, and upgrades of enterprise wide systems through their life cycle

Demonstrated ability to program in Oracle and/or SQL databases

Demonstrated analytics, project management, and team player experience

Knowledge of and ability to create scripting with Windows and/or Linux operating systems

Demonstrated ability to resolve complex technical issues in an enterprise systems environment

Excellent analytical and communication skills

Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Positive, calm and responsive to clients

Preferred formal education, professional skills and work experience

Experience maintaining multiple enterprise systems such as:
ITSM solutions

Application and process scheduling/automation systems

Document management/imaging systems

Telecommunication management systems

Web portals

Timekeeping systems

General familiarity and competency with server administration, basic networking, storage concepts, IT security, system administration, diagnostic tools, and workstation administration

Experience with HTML and CSS

Experience with web services and APIs

Experience within an educational workplace environment

Experience working with an ERP system

Experience with business process analysis or business process improvement

The Department of Enterprise Systems Support is a part of Information Technology Services (ITS) of the University of North Carolina Wilmington. ITS is an innovative organization committed to providing a technologically progressive environment for students, faculty and staff. The Department of Enterprise Systems Support is responsible for systems analysis, design, programming, and support for enterprise and vendor applications. The Department of ESS provides:

Innovative, stable, cost effective and secure technical support and maintenance of enterprise solutions to the campus community.

Day to day support for production applications and systems.

Timely implementation of upgrades and releases.

Development and analysis to support the operational requirements and mandates for production applications and systems.

User access for production applications.
