Job Details
This position exists to manage the tactical implementation of a strategy to significantly expand employer relationships across several key industry areas. The person in this role creates new outreach initiatives by leveraging technology to capture and respond to evolving student interests and preferences, and drives proactive outreach to source a broad range of meaningful internship and employment opportunities for students. In addition, this role nurtures evolving relationships with employers, in order to move them along a path of deeper engagement with Princeton graduate and undergraduate students.
ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities
Employer Outreach & Relationship Building (80%)
- Create and implement a plan for employer outreach to build new relationships across a wide range of industries and fields (including nonprofit, public sector, creative arts, communications, etc.) to significantly increase the number of diverse opportunities available for undergraduate and graduate students including internships and full-time employment
- Research job market trends and industry information to identify target employer organizations across key industry areas
- Create a prioritized list of outreach targets based on student interests and preferences, and implement a strategy for outreach and engagement
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to identify and create relationships with alumni at target employer organizations across key industry areas
- Pro-actively use a variety of outreach techniques to establish initial connections (site visits, on-line presentations, conference calls, professional organization meetings, etc.)
- Systematically gather and distribute industry intelligence to inform outreach strategies and share with staff and students
- Collaborate on the development of employer visibility and recruitment initiatives, such as information sessions, open houses, and career fairs
- Support team by participating in management of career fairs, campus recruiting, and job/internship posting
Technology Management (10%)
- Oversee and maintain employer data in the office’s SalesForce tool
- Use functionality of the office’s Handshake system to discover student preferences and interests, and monitor student application to newly developed opportunities
Reporting and Analysis (10%)
- Contribute to assessment efforts, data compilation, and analysis to identify and report job market trends, outreach outcomes, impact on student opportunities for internships and full-time employment, and increase in employer relationships across key industry areas
- Create narrative reports and presentations for staff which identify and articulate program impact
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field. (Master’s degree preferred)
- Experience in employer relations/outreach, campus recruiting, or corporate relations
- Comfort with change, ambiguity, and risk in a fast pace environment
- Exceptional research, data analysis and statistical reporting abilities
- Excellent communication, presentation, and marketing skills
- Experience with data-driven decision making and strategic planning
- Demonstrated passion and experience in cultivating connections, program planning and execution, group facilitation and engagement, and advising college students
- Knowledge of trends in career development, effective interventions, technology, and higher education networks
- Experience in working with and supporting underrepresented populations, and deep commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion goals
- Experience working in a higher education setting
