Bachelor’s degree in English or related field that required extensive research and writing. Experience working with college students and faculty, experience developing and administering presentations and trainings to small groups. Experience working with college students and faculty, experience developing training materials and working one-on-one with students to accomplish research objectives. Excellent oral and written communications skillsPreferred
Knowledge of TRiO programs; specifically, McNair. Experience working with ELL students. Bilingual in English and Spanish.Staffing Reason Temporary Primary Responsibilities
Develop and facilitate research writing workshops for McNair Scholars. Tutor McNair Scholars as they develop their Summer Research Institute research papers, in diverse disciplines.
Maintain office hours and, by appointment, meetings with Scholars for one-on-one writing sessions. Constructively edit student work, and provide them with resources for writing assistance when working individually. Maintain sign-in sheets for workshops, and contact sheets for one-on-one session with students to track communications and student progress. Responsible for personal safety and the safety of others; must exercise due caution and practice safe work habits at all times.
Appointment period 06/01/2019-08/15/2019
Develop and deliver research writing workshop to McNair Summer Research Internship participants, and assist McNair scholars with research writing skills and paper revision.
