General Summary The Department of Finance, Insurance and Law in the College of Business seeks a candidate for a one-year appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor of Finance beginning on August 16, 2019.

The successful candidate will be assigned a four-course per semester teaching load, supporting the department's M.B.A.-level and undergraduate major courses. The primary teaching need is in financial management, investments, and derivatives at the undergraduate level.

These positions are represented by the Illinois State University Education Association and may have associated dues or fees.
Additional Information: The Department of Finance, Insurance and Law is one of four departments (along with Accounting, Management & Quantitative Methods, and Marketing) in the College of Business at Illinois State University, located in Normal, IL. AACSB International accredits the College in both Accounting and Business. The college enrolls approximately 4,050 undergraduate and 210 graduate students. The Department of Finance, Insurance and Law has 25 faculty members, offers a major in Finance and a major in Risk Management and Insurance, and has a combined 902 undergraduate majors. There are 174 Risk Management and Insurance majors. Illinois State University is a student-centered, comprehensive institution with approximately 21,000 students.
Required Qualifications 1. A doctorate in Finance or a related discipline by the start of the appointment.
2. Have evidence of a demonstrated commitment to effective teaching and quality research.
3. For teaching positions, state law mandates demonstrable oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position.
4. If this position is Security Sensitive or if you are subject to a criminal background investigation based on University policy, employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation. You may not begin work until the criminal background investigation results have been received and cleared by Human Resources.
