The position will conduct formative desk and field research, including collecting qualitative and quantitative data, writing scholarly articles, presenting research at national and international meetings, and assisting in the assisting in the development and implementation of a community and social impact assessment research program. This research program is directly aligned with the University of Georgia Extension System.

The position is available immediately and the initial appointment is for a minimum of two years. Continuation of the position will depend on performance of the associate, needs by UGA and ALEC faculty, and the availability of funding.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position

The appointee has received a Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate
(e.g., D.V.M., Sc.D., M.D. , PharmD ), in a field directly related to the appointee’s assigned responsibilities.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

Can be qualitative and/or quantitatively trained; preferred (but not required) to have experience in community-oriented research, stemming from areas such as, but not limited to, sociology, human geography, communication, leadership, organizational behavior and public health.

Physical Demands

Light office work and ability to travel.
