TITLE OF POSITION/RANK: Adjunct Counselor-Office of Transfer Services

DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: Academic Counseling and Student Success Department / The Division of Student Access, Involvement, and Success/Academic Counseling and Student Success

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Academic Counseling and Student Success Department seeks applicants for a part-time Adjunct Counselor. The part-time Adjunct Counselor will help the College increase the percentage of students transferring to four-year colleges and universities as part of its US Department of Education Title V grant. They will conduct transfer counseling sessions in various settings, advise and assist students with the process of transferring from Westchester Community College to four-year colleges and universities, and provide early transfer outreach and planning through workshops delivered in the First Year Experience Course and other first and second year activities. They help support the college’s enrollment management and case management of students related to transfer, transfer planning, and degree completion to transfer. This Adjunct Counselor will assist the Coordinator of Transfer Services with all activities, events, and programs associated with students seeking to transfer from Westchester Community College to a four-year college or university including transfer advising and academic planning. The Adjunct Counselor will also document counseling and transfer outreach to students as part of the college and grants’ case management practices.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Counseling (No MSW or LCSW) and at least 1 year of professional experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience working with the transfer student population is preferred. Experience with caseload management and student tracking and data documentation systems for the purposes of monitoring student success and internal/external reporting is also preferred.

WORK SCHEDULE: The work schedule will be up to 17 hours per week.

POSITION EFFECTIVE: The position will remain open until filled.

HOURLY RATE OF PAY: $43.56 per hour. This is a grant funded position. No benefits.
