Founded in 1965, Chesapeake College is Maryland’s first regional community college.  Chesapeake continues to grow and change with the times, while staying true to its original mission – serving the educational, economic development and cultural needs of the region.

The two-year regional community college, which has its main campus in Wye Mills at the intersection of Routes 50 and 213, serves the residents of five diverse counties on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Students can pursue associate degrees, certificates, career training, high school Dual Enrollment and personal enrichment in more than 70 programs. The college offers a variety of credit and noncredit classes throughout the five-county service area or online.

The main campus includes state-of-the-art classrooms, the Learning Resource Center, the Health Professions and Athletics Center, simulation labs, two theatres and a variety of meeting spaces. Also located on the Chesapeake main campus, is the Eastern Shore Higher Education Center where area residents may pursue bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees through several four-year institutions. Chesapeake also has a satellite center in downtown Cambridge offering a variety of credit and workforce training classes.
