ON-Campus Clinical Instructor for EMS Program Description/Job Summary Summary of Position's Responsibility:
  • Work under direction of the Program and Clinical Coordinators, the On-Campus Clinical Instructor will work collaboratively in designing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating student tutoring, retention and success activities within the EMS Program
  • Instruct and evaluate students in the clinical laboratory including theory content and assist with campus lab simulation.
  • Provide feedback to faculty in the EMS related to student performance in the clinical laboratory and simulation activities.
  • Provide remediation to students in the EMS Program to enhance student learning.
Assessment and Evaluation
  • Use a variety of strategies to assess and evaluate learning in these domains: cognitive, psychomotor, and affective.
  • Use existing evaluation tools for assessing clinical practice and educational outcomes.
  • Evaluate available resources for learner assessment and evaluation.

Required Skills KSA's
  • Ability with specific strengths in academic skill building with an emphasis in math, biological sciences, literacy and reading comprehension skills specific to programs in the School of Nursing and Health Professional programs (SNHP).
  • Knowledge of clinical and computer proficiency.
  • Ability to write proficiently and be able to assist students in the writing process.
  • Ability to do math and practical skills to tutor math for clinical applications.
  • Knowledge of the Maryland Medical Protocols for Emergency Medical Services Providers.
Required Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
  • EMT certification
  • CPR certification
  • Current or previous NREMT License and/or certification
  • 3 consecutive years of experience as an Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic or higher
  • Maintains a Maryland EMS certification or license as an Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic
