Assistant Professor

The Business School atthe University of Colorado Denver has an opening for a full- time AssistantProfessor of Business Analytics. The position is 40% teaching, 40% research and20% service. The normal teaching load consists of 4 courses (3 hours each)during a 9-month contract.

The Business School atthe University of Colorado Denver, located in the heart of downtown, is a hubof innovation, collaboration and discovery. With full AACSB accreditation, it is the largest accreditedgraduate school of business in the Rocky Mountain region which places it in thetop 5 percent of business programs worldwide. The Business School offersoutstanding education to more than 3,000 undergraduate and graduate studentseach year who come from around the world to study in one of its twelve academicdisciplines.

The Business Analyticsarea offers an MS degree in Business Analytics as well as a Business Analyticsemphasis in the MBA program. The area is also responsible for coursesin statistics and operations management at the undergraduate level.

Qualifications

Required qualifications: 

  • A PhD in Operations Research, Business Analytics, or a closely-related area from an accredited university.
  • An established research record in top tier journals in optimization.
  • A research interest in both large scale nonlinear continuous optimization as well as large scale combinatorial optimization.
  • At least one-year experience in teaching graduate business analytics courses including, large scale optimization, machine learning, modern time series analysis forecasting and statistics for business analytics.
  • Ability to use and/or teach current data analytic/data modeling tools, such as R, Python, Matlab, C/C++, database query languages, AMPL, etc.
  • One-year experience using innovative teaching technologies at the graduate level, including case or discussion methods.
