Youth-Nex (The University of Virginia Center to Promote Effective Youth Development) is seeking highly qualified applicants for a one year Postdoctoral Research Associate position, with the possibility of extension to two years based on success in the first year. The position is part of a program that trains scholars to conduct research related to promoting effective youth development, intervention, and programming, including preventing problem behaviors.
An earned Ph.D. in Education, Psychology or a related field is required by the start date of the position. Research interests in issues of adolescent development is essential. Experience conducting applied or translational research in educational and/or community-based out-of-school settings is required. Experience in synthesizing research literature, data management and collection of field studies is essential as is familiarity with multi-methods approaches to research. Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative data collection and design, management, and analysis skills is required. Preference will be given to applicants who have direct experience translating research for practitioner audiences and/or partnering with practitioners on research, grant writing, and using an interdisciplinary approach to education, youth development, and/or prevention science.
