Works as a peer "leader" for clinic assistant functions in the Ashe Center. Is a resource for performing and training in procedures and scheduling of clinic support staff. Functions as a floor coordinator ensuring the Ashe Center resources are well utilized. Coordinates and manages SHA volunteer training and scheduling. Percentage of Time: 100 Shift Start: 8:00 am Shift End: 5:00 pm function checkForSelectedStatus(){ return true;} Qualifications for Position 21 Records Qualifications Required/Preferred Skill in speaking English clearly and distinctly to give and obtain information. Required Skill in reading, English and interpreting medical documents and clinician orders. Required Moderately comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology. Required Skill-organizing patient flow in various clinics. Required Working knowledge and skills in basic nursing, medical and surgical procedures using aseptic technique. Required Skills and knowledge in taking routine vital signs as well as visual acuity, color vision testing. Required Knowledge and ability to instruct students in self-care as per clinicians' orders. Required Skill and knowledge of correct procedures for handling and routing biopsy specimens. Required Ability to interpret laboratory tests and x-ray reports based on accepted "normals" as prescribed by standards established by MD/NP consultants. Required Working knowledge of consultation and referral forms for Ashe Center and UCLA Medical Center. Preferred Working knowledge of ordering procedures for lab, x-rays and other diagnostic tests. Required Working knowledge of Ashe Center and Policies and Procedures. Preferred Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students and staff. Required Knowledge of clinic schedules, ability to utilize computer system to generate e-mail letters, and check lab reports. Required Skill and ability to assist in all clinical areas. Required Skill and ability independently and following through on assignments with minimal direction. Required Ability to organize and schedule clinic support staff to maintain staffing ratios needed for clinician support. Required CPR certificate. Required Graduate from an accredited Clinic Assistant training program. Required Certificate from national accrediting organization. Required Phlebotomy certificate and skill.
