HAPSS Clinical Applications Analyst Job Number Full/Part Time Schedule Salary 201902138381 Full Time 8AM - 5PM Commensurate with Experience Position Information Under the general supervision of the Manager Credentialing, Quality and Compliance, the SHS Clinical Applications Analyst (CAA) is responsible for the configuration and operation of the Student Health Services (SHS) and Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), electronic medical records and operational applications. This includes but is not limited to: Point and Click, Pro-Pharm and other specialized applications. The role also creates care templates, writes reports and monitors security event logs. The incumbent is expected to become the application expert for all health and counseling applications. The incumbent will also develop a full understanding of the application set capabilities. The CAA provides leadership for strategic planning in conjunction with the SHS Director, CAPS Director and related leadership. Develops long-range goals and objectives. Represents the department in discussions and negotiations with external organizations on medical information systems issues. Analyzes requirements for systems and interfaces in terms of cost, benefit, timeliness, effectiveness and regulatory compliance. Coordinates and consults on information system architecture and interfaces with the Vice Chancellor Student Affairs Division's Managers, and ITS staff. Exercises judgment in selecting appropriate course of action and levels of consultation for problem and issue resolution, and follows procedural requirements for authorization and approval when required. Education Education Requirements Degree Requirement Bachelor's degree in health care information technology, computer science, or related area, and/or equivalent combination of experience/training. Certifications Certification Requirement Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation Preferred Related technical certifications in the healthcare field Preferred SQL server database and scripting language certification Preferred
Experience Experience Requirement 2 - 4 years of related experience. Required Demonstrated experience administering an enterprise EMR solution (preferably PNC). Required Previous experience within a higher education institution. Preferred Previous experience supporting a student health organization. Preferred Demonstrated experience in a HIPAA or FERPA regulated field. Required

Working knowledge of clinical applications systems and functions, including development, implementation, user support, maintenance, and system testing and evaluation.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose problems and develop multiple options for effective and timely resolution of issues and problems.
Ability to create adhoc reports using relational database and data-mining software and other programs such as SQL, SAS and other statistical tools
Effective written and oral communication with comfort in making formal presentations to small, medium, and large sized groups
Knowledge and practical use of statistical methods used in complex analyses
Strong project management skills with the proven ability to meet project deadlines
Tolerance of ambiguity and ability to function well in a fast paced environment with multiple stake holders
Ability to manage in a bureaucratic organization with skill and tact using outstanding interpersonal skills

Demonstrated experience in analysis, process and workflow design, research, installation/implementation and support of EMR systems.
IT and operational knowledge of clinical or revenue cycle processes in one or more areas of a hospital, clinic, or business office
Preferred Qualifications Working knowledge of departmental systems and procedures for documentation and reporting, with the ability to perform tests, and to analyze, and interpret relevant data.
Advanced understanding of Healthcare operations and structure, general requirements of an integrated delivery system, and use of IT applications in the practicing healthcare environment.
