Duties and Responsibilities
-Reports to the Head Football Coach;
-Serves as a role model to players in character, personal fitness, integrity, respect and loyalty;
-Demonstrates high energy, enthusiasm and a positive attitude when in football environment;
-Ensures development of positive, productive and effective relationships with players;
-Develops and implements a solid program for defensive players and develops and manages goals;
-Develops appropriate plan for and implements skills development for players;
-Coordinates and implements game-day defensive plan and strategies;
-Ensures clear communication in all applicable areas to the Head Coach and coaching colleagues;
-Coordinates group and position meetings (through staff) as assigned and as appropriate;
-Builds practice plans for defensive players;
-Oversees/manages individual drill work for defensive players.
Grades and evaluates defensive players and performance and makes adjustments accordingly;
-Demonstrates character and integrity in recruiting and abides by all institutional and NCAA rules;
-Fulfills all recruiting assignments and work;
-Assists or leads in any fundraising events assigned by Coach or Athletic Director; and,
-Performs related duties as assigned or as necessary.
Minimum Required Education
Bachelor's degree
Required Licenses and/or Certifications
NA
Minimum Qualifications
College-level playing experience plus a minimum of two (2) to three (3) years as an assistant football coach, preferably in Division II or higher.
Preferred Qualifications
Division II or higher assistant football coaching experience.
