Description

Earlham College invites applications for the position of Mailroom Supervisor in the Campus Post Office. This is a full-time, hourly staff position with a starting rate of $12.82 per hour, with an increase to $12.97 per hour upon successful completion of 90-day introductory period. Compensation also includes a benefits package. This position reports to the Director of Events & Operations.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide supervision of all mail coming into the college, as well as mail being dispatched, is handled in accordance with the guidelines of the United States Postal Service.
  • Maintain accountability in handling monies and stamps.
  • Supervise the operation of postage mailing equipment.
  • Supervise coverage of the Postal Unit (USPS) window.
  • Supervise the sorting and distribution of mail for all departments on campus.
  • Supervise the receiving, scanning, sorting and distribution of all campus packages from UPS, FedEx and any other delivery service.
  • Supervise crew of student workers and part-time hourly staff.
  • Process all billing and accounting for the Postal Unit.
  • Maintain the budget for the Postal Unit/Mailroom.
Experience & Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or GED certification is required.
  • A minimum of three years of job-related experience.
  • Good customer service skills, computer skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Good written/verbal communication and math skills are a must, as well as ability to accurately handle money.
  • This position requires the ability to lift and handle heavy packages on a daily basis.
  • Due to responsibilities handling cash, employment is contingent upon a credit check and criminal records check.
