Title:Director of Systems Integration Job Category:Staff Description:

MAJOR DUTIES:

  • Analyze the customer’s needs and defines optimum solution based on staff’s needs/requirements, cost, effort, resource availability, and required integration with existing applications/systems/platforms/instruments.
  • Partner with business and technical teams to elicit, analyze, and document requirements.
  • Align needs/requirements with organizational strategy and leadership goals.
  • Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications, workflows, and identifies cross-functional dependencies.
  • Conduct enterprise analysis including root cause analysis, development of solution proposals, and creation of business cases.
  • Coordinate with appropriate staff to plan and design system components necessary for operational efficiency.
  • Effectively articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Review staff requests and requirements and performs an analysis to determine if existing solution exists or if a new solution is required to accommodate the request.
  • Support project management efforts and provide input into project plans.
  • Accurately estimate the effort required to implement the solution.
  • Coordinates with the project team and appropriate staff on the installation, testing, and implementation of system components according to the project plan.
  • Establish and implement change control processes in support of the project’s functional processes and technical platforms.
  • Communicate regularly with project team on progress toward defined goals and/or required results.
  • Remain up to date with current higher education and technology trends, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Earned Master’s degree in mathematics, management information systems, computer science, operations or related field with over three years of experience. Or a bachelor’s degree with additional experience that is equivalent to the above.
  • Proficiency in project management software, performance analytics, continuous improvement practices, ITIL, Microsoft Office applications, and other relevant technologies.
  • Must be able to travel to various locations within the state of Georgia in support of institutions, attending meetings, conferences, etc.
  • May require occasional out of state travel.
  • Requires skills as an influencer and the ability to take independent initiative.
  • Has knowledge of best practices in higher education and technology.

  • Have demonstrated expertise in integration for both functional and technology systems.
  • Display exceptional analytical, planning, organizational, and problem solving abilities.
  • Have the skill to lead cross-functional teams within a governance model requiring a high-degree of creativity, collaboration, and motivation.
  • Have the ability to analyze business system processes and user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing systems.
  • Demonstrate strong management and organizational skills to help oversee the quality and timeliness of the process.
  • Possess strong communication skills and sound business judgment with the ability to adapt to a changing environment.
  • Be an expert in requirements gathering and specification documentation.
  • Possess project management skills within complex functional and technical systems.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of enterprise-scale issues in higher education systems.
  • Experience with business process improvement techniques and methodologies.
  • Excellent verbal and communications skills that non-technical staff can understand.
  • Have experience in configuration management, operations and compliance.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, including tact, diplomacy, and flexibility to work with faculty, executive administrators, staff, students, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to present ideas and information in group settings.
  • Be an excellent problem-solver with the ability to help others solve problems
  • Ability to motivate others positively toward timely project completion.
Desired Qualifications:

PREFFERED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise IT project management, systems analysis, or IT operations.
  • 3+ years of experience leading IT projects and initiatives in a higher education setting.
