From animation to architecture and industrial design, mathematics is an essential component for student development and advances their learning from the study of general education into their disciplines of study. The success of SCAD mathematics instruction is bolstered by numerous SCADstudents who were honored at the European Parliament in Fall 2018 for winning major European Product Design Awards and the Emerging Product Designer of the Year. Such accomplishments are only possible through a rigorous and engaging general education experience.

SCAD mathematics professors advance curricular innovation and offer engaging learning experiences to their students in courses such as MATH100 College Mathematics, MATH 104 Mathematics of Computer Science, MATH 204 Algorithm Design and Analysis, and MATH 240 Logic.

This position requires the ability to motivate students to think creatively and critically, work with students and faculty of diverse backgrounds, foster creative and interdisciplinary collaboration and demonstrate enthusiasm for working with a variety of learning styles at a leading arts university.

The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about working with a variety of learning styles in a leading arts university, can serve on department teams and university councils to fulfill leadership positions, and possesses the ability and background to teach courses in mathematics for computer science, algorithm design and logic.
