Job Summary:

Provide instruction and monitor teaching/learning effectiveness in courses assigned by the division Assistant Dean. An adjunct faculty position requires professionals with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Candidates for this position must have strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask as well as the ability to engage large groups of people with complicated material. They must also be able to use technology sufficiently to use a learning management system (Blackboard) and respond to email.

This posting is for Sign Language. Instructor must have a native ability (or interpreter certification) in American Sign Language (not Signed English).

SGN101.600 Monday and Wednesday evening, 6-8:45pm 6/10/19 - 8/2/19 at the Sugar Grove campus.

Position Qualifications:

Required:

Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf certification and/or be a native ASL user. Fluency in sign language.

Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Interpreter Education, Deaf Studies, or related field

Two years teaching experience and/or equivalent occupational experience in the field of interpreter training/sign language.

Preferred:

Teaching experience at the vocational/technical or community college level.

Master’s degree.
