JOB SUMMARY

The Admissions Data and Insights Analyst serves as a key member of both the Admissions and Insights & Analytics teams, leveraging data to assist the Enrollment Services team in making business decisions. This person will partner with the AVP of Insights & Analytics, the Director of Admissions, and the broader Admissions team to identify and work toward shared goals. This person will be responsible for understanding institutional and external data sources, and synthesizing relevant information into actionable findings and recommendations for the team. They will provide insights about key admissions audiences that lead to stronger communication across the recruitment funnel. They will measure the success of admissions activity, and track the team’s progress toward institutional enrollment goals.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

  • Admissions Decision Support: Deliver analysis of relevant data to inform admissions practices, activities, and decisions. Activities include Counselor Territory analysis and tracking, overall enrollment goal setting and tracking, and other ad hoc analysis of customer relationship management tool (CRM) data.
  •  
  • Measurement and Optimization: Evaluate admissions activity to measure success and recommend optimizations for the future.  Includes measurement of digital marketing activity, evaluation of in-person recruitment experiences, and an annual retrospective assessment of the recruitment cycle.

  • Strategic Prospect Procurement: Provide data-informed thought leadership for leveraging different sources of prospective students, including how to best interact with different pools of prospects, measuring ROI from different sources, and making recommendations for where to invest more or less.

  • Audience Insights: Build the team’s knowledge of prospective students and their families, including their perceptions of St. Thomas. Lead foundational primary research initiatives, synthesize secondary data sources, and complete competitive analyses to yield relevant and useful insights about key audiences.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, mathematics, data science, or a relevant analytical field of study.
  • Three years of experience leveraging data to make business decisions and recommendations. Experience should include analyzing data and creating reports in tools such as Excel, Tableau, PowerBI, etc. 

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in executing and/or leveraging primary research, such as surveys or focus groups; experience with sales funnels, including leveraging a CRM tool such as Salesforce.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have been acquired may be substituted.
