Facilities Information Services is looking for a UK student to fill a technical support role for the department.
This position will report directly to the Information Technology Manager and will serve in a variety of technical roles supporting the different areas of the Information Services team. While serving in these roles the position will rely on senior level support to help complete the assigned tasks.
The tasks will span many different skills sets including but not limited to desktop support; hardware, software and application support; computer security; user training; supporting other departmental projects needs as required. Previous experience in all areas listed is not required to apply.
The ideal candidate will have a strong customer service mind set, have a willingness to be a part of a collaborative team environment, have a background in or want to learn technical support skills, and have the desire to grow their technical skills while working on the UK campus.
The position will have the opportunity to work 10 – 25 hours per week during the semester and up to 40 during the summer depending on the applicant’s availability and departmental needs. The position will support projects to meet department deadlines and will function as an integral part of the department while filling the same roles as the full time positions in the department.
